Has Obama's constant comments critical of the GOP contributed to the biggest partisan divide in history?

he is continuing the same partisanship that has gone on for the last 9 years at least. (i didn't follow politics much before 9/11 but it at least goes back to the florida voting circus in the 2000 elections or maybe to the attempted impeachment of clinton. this divide has been a process but no one is stopping it.
