How to I make my USB card work?

I just got a brand new DELL that's 'smokin' fast! I had an old DELL that I put a USB 2.0 card in a few years back. I thought I could take it out and put it into the new computer. I did but nothing popped up / it didn't read or work as I tried hooking the keyboard and mouse into it. Anyway, I don't believe it came with any startup disc and if it did, I don't have it. Is there a way to get the computer to read the card and activate that particular driver? Thanks
