How do I find out if he loves me?

I really fancy this guy called dan, as in i think i love him. He got dumped a month ago by a girl called molly and im not sure if he still has feelings for her. But i met him at a party when the two of us were sat on the gr in pitch black playing guitar. (well he was doing most of the playing) The song was about a girl and we only really had a lantern for light as it was 2 in the morning. He kept looking up at me when he was playing and I couldnt take my eyes off him. I thought it was really romantic but it might just have been me interpreting it wrong. I talk to him quite alot but i want to know if he likes me and i havent a clue. Plz help cos i really love him and hope he does back :/
