Why does that Orange man keep getting on TV saying Americans want the Rich to pay less Taxes who appointed him?

I agree with you. BUT, we should be taxed on what we spend, not what we earn. And I don't mean a VAT either. The rich spend more so they would naturally pay more. And even illegals would have to contribute. It would be good for everyone except politicians because they would lose power and control. You know the tax code not only takes money from us, it also tries to regulate certain behaviors and punish others.
