Does he really like me....or not? GUYS please explain?

There is this guy who asked me out last Wednesday in Science cl who I think might like me but I'm not sure if he's playing tricks on me or not. You see, he previously (about 4-5 months ago) pestered me for about a week and a half to go out with one of his friends, but while he was pestering me (and I was saying no because I seriously thought it was a joke[ I was always the one to be made fun of in grade school and 6th grade, but Iwas nice and sociable} & besides I wasn't ready to start dating yet but I didn't tell them that) he & his buddies kept looking at me and laughing and they kept whispering and I was sure I could hear my name mentioned (oh yeah did I tell u he & his friends r in the group right next to mine?!). So anyways, he kept bugging me to go out with him on Wed. and when I told him no he wanted to know why (Do you not want to go out with me because I'm black? Do you think you're too good for me? Do you believe me? etc. Is he for real or not? I cant tell.
